Patricia Tamayo is an architect, researcher, and educator based in Barcelona. She graduated with honors (magna cum laude) in Architecture from ETSALS in 2006, receiving the award for the highest academic record and recognition at the IX Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. She later completed a Postgraduate Master of Integrated Architecture at ETSALS and obtained her PhD in Architecture from KU Leuven in 2022, following a research stay at Seoul National University in South Korea.

Her work operates at the intersection of research, professional practice, and teaching, with a particular focus on architecture, urban transformation, and the rehabilitation of industrial heritage. Since 2015 she has led her own independent practice, developing projects that explore the intermediate scale between architecture and the city.

Alongside her professional work, Tamayo has been actively engaged in academia. She began teaching architecture and urban design at ETSALS in 2007 and later taught at UIC Barcelona (2017–2024). She currently teaches at Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura. She has also participated as a guest critic at several international institutions including Hochschule für Technik Zürich, Korea University, and ETSAB Barcelona.

Her recent work includes the refurbishment of Nau F at Fabra & Coats in Barcelona, part of the MUHBA Labour Museum within the historic industrial complex.
