Fabra & Coats
Exhibition
This temporary exhibition was created to test how the rich history and materials of the former Fabra i Coats textile factory could be integrated into a single, coherent space where content and container enter into dialogue. The experience begins with a semi‑transparent curtain that gently immerses visitors in the factory’s story, then guides them through distinct chapters: the factory’s origins, the daily rhythms and techniques of work, the welfare and benefits provided to employees, its role as a model industrial complex, and finally its closure in 2006.
The layout stages a clear narrative progression while allowing moments of pause and reflection, intimate displays, archival objects, and interpretive interventions that keep the factory’s legacy present and legible. This experimental format tests circulation, sightlines, and the relationship between objects and architecture, proving how memory and material can be shaped together in one evocative visit.
